WLAN

A standard for the wireless connection of computers in or to a Local
Area Network. WLAN it self is quite fast, but the true speed of your
connection will depend on a WLAN's connection to the internet. Most
recend laptop or notebook computers have built-in WLAN. Originally
designed for office and home use, WLAN is increasingly found in public
locations, often called WLAN "hotspots"
